10 JanThe Thirty-Peso Project for Childhaus

It has long been my goal to organize a charity project on my birthday. Unfortunately, I haven’t had the strength to make it happen. Now, I promise to exert extra efforts to put this goal into action. And I think, this January—the first month of the year—is the perfect time to start moving.

Why Php30? There are many amounts to choose from, but number 30 is indeed a significant number for me as of this year. Obviously, I am now on my 30th year (Orayt, I am blushing now!), so let me face reality with a good cause. Besides, P30 is just a small amount that everybody can afford to donate. It won’t be a hassle to ask from partners and advocates. If put together, these 30-peso funds will be a significant amount that can help our beneficiaries.

So, who will be the beneficiaries? It will be The Childhaus, located at #35 Ofelia St., Project 8, Quezon City. And I quote, from their official website

The CHILD House is a temporary shelter for indigent patients from the different provinces who have cancer or other dreaded diseases and have no place to stay in Metro Manila while undergoing medical evaluation or treatment.

It provides free room and board to its residents.

The CHILD House is run along the principles of hospice care and promotes the concept of holistic care healing through its various programs, services and activities.

What to do with the collected money? I am still clearing things out for the project, but here’s an overview of what the kids from Childhaus will enjoy before the year ends:

  • A Jollibee Christmas Party on December 2012 (date TBA)
  • special kiddie loot bags (aside from that of Jollibee’s, if any)
  • a pair of brand new clothes for each child (we’ll try to collect enough to achieve a 1:1 ratio)
  • food supplies (milk, cereals, noodles, rice, etc.)

I have a friend who works as a staff in The Childhaus, so coordination will be much easier.

I am appealing to my family, friends, workmates, blogger buddies, and readers to help me fulfill this mission. You can personally give your donations to me or send it thru my GCASH, Unionbank EON, or PayPal accounts. Kindly express your interest in this endeavor by leaving your comment and email address below.

Rest assured that all communications will be replied to as soon as possible, and all donations will be recorded and properly accounted for.

Thanks and God bless you always!

Hey, Ca! It’s you! You can go to a Globe Center nearest you and ask there how to send GCASH. I already sent you an email. Meron ding mga pawnshops like Villarica Pawnshop na may GCASH services. Mas convenient yun para sa’yo.
