02 MayGiving Myself a Break

Wait. Stop. Let me take a deep breath.

There will come a time when, no matter how excited and enthusiastic you are in a project that you are doing, you just have to pause for a while, inhale, think, exhale, and do nothing. This was how my past seven days felt.

Being too eager to complete the wedding checklist asap defines pressure. Sometimes, I come to find myself asking, “Am I still enjoying the process?” and all I get is an unsure, wordless response—my eyes staring blankly at the ceiling.

“Give me a break,” I stressed, calmly, one time. And all I did was set aside all the scratch papers and note pads, colored pens, and the turned-off desktop computer. In split seconds, I decided to stop, giving assurance to myself that soon I will get back to the preparation and accomplish it in a slower pace possible. I want to savor every moment of it, and it is important to me as well that Yobs also enjoys the process, making him absorb even the smallest details every step of the way.

For now, I’ll just sit here, on a rock, and recharge my energies to the fullest. Then, I’ll go back to the wedding checklist again. Maybe on Sunday, for our ocular visit to one of our wedding reception options.
